Bridging Cultures: REACHing into the Void

BRTC’s REACH (Researching Early Arkansas Cultural Heritage) historic preservation project serves as a bridge to help students understand the history of slavery, particularly non-plantation slavery, in the early 1800s trans-Mississippi West. The project is a unique regional study that provide a lens through which students can view and connect the global immigrations of enslaved peoples.
